Silicon Beer Belly Sources

California was formerly known for it's Silicon Valley. Most of know we need vitamins, proteins, less carbs and nutrients but should we seek sources for silicon? According to Charles W. Bamforth of University of California, teacher of brewing at the UC Davis and Troy R. Casey, son of Greg Casey with Coors in Golden Colorado, is confirmed as "a very rich source of silicon." The answers is yes.

Dr. Bamforth, the Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor, who believes "beer is better than wine" and is constantly seeking employment for his interns from industry insiders as well as Troy's dad's company. That's a kind of concern not easily dismissed by research in to silicon as a valuable health source.

ABC News got it right when they surmised: "In the study, the authors concluded that "beer is a substantial source of silicon in the diet" and that "beers containing high levels of malted barley and hops are richest in silicon," but they did not attempt to establish a link between beer drinking and bone health."

Indian AleThat ABC News contacted experts seems silly the only experts that this research would appeal to would be the industry that Dr. Bamforth and Troy Casey's father at Coor's in Colorado. Also anyone who supported (as did we) the Saints in the Superbowl over the Colts.

Gatoraid is made for dumping over the coach's head but beer is for celebrating a SuperBowl victory. If it were not so Bud, Miller, Coors, Busch and every other alcoholic brewing company would not have said it was so.
"Choose the beer you enjoy. Drink it in moderation," lead researcher Charles Bamforth of the University of California, Davis, told LiveScience. "It is contributing silicon (and more) to your good health."
CBS News reported "there is no official recommendation for daily silicon uptake, the researchers say, in the United States, individuals consume between 20 and 50 mg of silicon each day. Light lagers and non-alcoholic beers not only lack flavor, they showed the lowest silicon content in Bamforth’s study. The ultra-hoppy India pale ales came in first."

Want better, strong, bigger bones then man up no sissy, light, dishwater beers for you. Drink your two-a-day suds of India ale like a real man should so you can be all belly, brew and bones.

The video on ABC News website is all wrong from IdealBite.com according to the current research from University of California Davis. So while the video misses the mark the bottle should be dark but it can also be locally brewed if your brewer isn't some Namby-pamby sissy bottler. We say don't take a chance go all Indian ale and man up!

There are no great breweries in the District of Columbia which is surprising considering it's the drunkest city in the area. There are four (4) great "four (4) or five (5) star" locations for Indian Ale highest in silicon if it matters to you. They are in Maryland:
  1.  Duclaw Brewing Co-Restaurant, Hanover, MD   On tap or Growler for home
  2.  Bare Bones Grill and Brewery, Ellicott City, MD On tap
  3.  Castlebay Irish Pub, Annapolis, MD Bottles in house only
  4.  Brewer's Art, Baltimore, MD  Bottles in house only
In North Carolina also has four (4) great Indian Ale brews or local brewed brands. NC choices are:
  1. Liberty Steak House and Brewery, High Point, NC  On tap, Growlers or Kegs for home
  2. Outer Banks Brewing Station, Kill Devil Hills, NC  On tap or Growlers
  3. Front Street Brewery, Wilmington, NC  On tap or Growlers
  4. Hops Restaurant Bar & Brewery, Matthews, NC  Growlers
Virginia has only three (3) great "four (4) or five (5) star" locations. The VA choices are:
  1. Bull and Bones Brewhaus and Grill, Blacksburg, VA  On tap or locally brewed
  2. Extra Billy's Smokehouse & Brewery, Midlothian, VA
  3. Richbrau Brewing Co, Richmond, VA  On tap and bottles for in house only
We also didn't list any three (3) star locations in the District of Columbia cause really when you're consider the drunkest we really don't think you need any help finding some place that has healthier beer cause we really think that you've had enough. Really. Put the drinks down - now!!!!
